The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday condemned Sunday’s gunmen attack on the Jos Correctional Centre.

In a statement on Monday morning, the party warned that jailbreaks had become a new trend which poses a great threat to the nation.

Sylvanus Namang, the Publicity Secretary in the State, commended security agencies for their gallantry.

State Chairman, Rufus Bature, said quick response and collaboration by operatives was key in the fight against insecurity.

The escaping inmates were arrested while one submitted himself to the police.

Bature demanded that the perpetrators of the latest incident must not be treated with kid gloves.

‘They must be made to pay dearly for their action as a deterrent to other criminals in our midst,’ he noted.

Bature called for re-strategising, remodelling and modernising of the correctional service system.

The politician further advised youths against allowing themselves to be used to destabilise Plateau.

Africa Daily News, New York had earlier reported that some yet-to-be-identified Gunmen on Sunday afternoon attacked the Jos Correctional Centre in Plateau State.
