Congratulations are in order as Mrs Betty Akeredolu, the First Lady of Ondo State Ondo State emerged personality of the year courtesy of The Eastern Updates, a media company under the People and Polity group.
The honour was conferred on her in their recently published magazine which was made public on the 27th of November. According to the parameters set by The Eastern Updates, a news company which is known for its solid standing with honesty and unbiased news dispersal, Mrs Betty Akeredolu was chosen for this award because of her wonderful, selfless philantropic works targeted at her constituents and Nigerians at large.
She is also known for being an avid supporter of female development and girl-child education and she has put numerous structures in place for this with the help of her numerous foundations and organisations which include the famous Breast Cancer Awareness in Nigeria (BRECAN) which she singlehandedly set up for women suffering from Breast Cancer in Nigeria.
Amongst those that congratulated her on this wonderful achievement was the Owerri Zone Group which is a socio-political organisation established by Owerri indigenes in Nigeria and in the diaspora which advocates for good governance in Imo State particularly and Nigeria generally.

Some of their administrators who spoke through Africa Daily News, New York expressed happiness at the choice of Mrs Betty Akeredolu being the personality of the year for The Eastern Updates. They made it clear that she was the right choice for that position whilst citing her numerous philanthropic works which have changed the life of many individuals in the society.
Edwin Ajoku Esq, a seasoned legal practitioner in London and one of the Administrators of Owerri Zone commended The Eastern Updates for choosing Mrs Betty Akeredolu as their personality of the year. In his words:

Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu can be described as an amazon in every single sense of the word and she is not called this as a means of flattery or patronage. Even though she is not actively involved in Nigerian or Ondo State politics, the Imo-born First Lady of Ondo State has been rightly tagged as one of the best First Ladies to ever grace the South-West geopolitical zone and this is no mean feat considering the burden of ethnic differences that she would have been subjected to as an Igbo woman.
