Abducted Catholic Priest Regains Freedom In Kaduna

An abducted Catholic priest identified Reverend Father Luka Yakusak, in charge of St. Mathew’s Catholic Church, Anchuna in Zango-Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been set free by his abductors.

Africa Daily News, New York suspected bandits had on Monday night kidnapped Yakusak.

However, in a statement on Wednesday by Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Uchechukwu Okolo, Kafanchan Catholic Diocese confirmed that Fr. Luka Benson Yakusak has regained freedom from bandits.

The statement did not say whether ransom was paid, but it was learnt, that the victim spent two days in the bush with his abductors.

The statement, while giving praise to God for the quick release of the victim, also thanked everyone who stood by the church during its travail and trials.

We want to thank all those that have offered prayers and entreaties for the quick release of our Brother Priest and Others who are still in the dens of their kidnappers,‘ the statement said.
