The All Progressives Congress (APC) cleverly and adroitly sacked the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from power by beguiling and mesmerising Nigerians with sweet words in 2015, while Nigerians could be excused for their gullibility in buying into the superlative narrative, however, the fraudsters who hoodwinked them should not enjoy the same luxury; evidently, the party has shown itself to be nothing but an organised crime gang, Nigeria hasn’t been the same ever since they invaded the shores of power.

It was an unassailable fact that back in 2015, there were so many things wrong with the PDP. In fact, it was an understatement to insist it is a very imperfect political party. However, for everything that is wrong with the PDP, over the last six years, the APC has proven itself to be worse. It is ludicrous to pretend the APC is squeaky-clean while the PDP is corrupt when a large chunk of APC members were formerly in the PDP. Sadly, this is the erroneous impression the APC and her promoters have been clutching on to continue to hold Nigerians captive.

Over the last six years, what the criminal gang known as APC has managed to build in Africa’s most populous country is a castle of spittle that was ever so brittle and only a mere dew would collapse it in no time. It is encouraging to note that many discerning Nigerians have been able to realise that they were been fooled and taken on a flight of fancy.

The country’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has over the years been on the trail of internet fraudsters, the irony here is that they have remained blind to the political fraudsters at the helm of affairs presently in the country. the heist perpetrated by the APC in 2015 on Nigerians has to be one of the biggest frauds in Nigeria’s history. They were not different from the inconsolable preys of 419 victims of an abracadabra that makes it possible for someone to obtain huge sums from you in installments and exponential manoeuvring. How could a party possibly make innocent Nigerians those promises when they had no intentions of fulfilling them? In place of an El-dorado, they have made Nigerians miserable.

In 2015, the gang of fraudsters rode to power on the back of promises which were anchored on three cardinal points namely; anti-corruption fight, fight against insecurity, and a stable economy, comparing today’s Nigeria viz a viz these promises can easily move one to tears. Their abysmal failure in these areas should naturally force a revolution if Nigerians were not docile.

After running poisonous campaigns of calumny against the PDP accusing them of being the most corrupt political party in Africa and insisting that Muhammadu Buhari, was the only saint left on earth to tackle that major weakness of the then PDP government, the party has today’s set new standards for corruption in the country. The party has remained breeding grounds for people like the present Governor of Kano State who was caught on camera implementing ‘Babanriga banking,’ people like the landlord of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, People like transport minister, and Chibuike Amaechi as party leaders. Ganduje or more appropriately Gandollar’s case particularly has been able to expose President Buhari to many as a bloody hypocrite. A man who prefers to go after opposition elements whereas, under him, graft has become a well-honed State policy.

Under the APC, the belief is that once you join the coven, the vaunted protector of anti-corruption, you would be free and safe notwithstanding the public stance. The aphorism as clearly spelled out by its former Chairman is that, ‘Sinners join the APC and have your sins wiped away and sin no more’, even if you’re still deeply entrenched in corrupt practices.

Under the organised crime popularly known as the APC, corruption has gripped the country by the jugular. The very fabric of government and its structures is woven up in a web of deceit, lack of integrity, astonishing and amazing corrupt practices that even make the corruption that was witnessed in the former Party appear as mere child’s play. To be very clear, Nigeria has simply never had it so bad. The realities are unbelievable and mind-boggling.

The party has continued to deceive Nigerians that she is fighting corruption and so much funds had been recovered, this has forced many Nigerians to begin to wonder why the party still borrowing recklessly from the Chinese banks and plunging the country into gaping financial holes. Under the party, the country’s total debt has grown from 11 trillion Naira in 2015 to over 33 trillion Naira and the party isn’t even done borrowing.

What is even more distressing is the fact that the party and leadership have constantly blamed her incompetence on the previous administration whose inefficiencies she was elected to correct. The party has continued to blame the PDP for its maladministration while claiming the glory that should accrue to the same party.

Under the APC-controlled government, nepotism, parochialism, bigotry, and ethnicity have become new standards. President Buhari has continued to run a Government that appears to favour one part of the country at the expense of all the other parts. The Fulani oligarch so far, has continued to flaunt their invincibility because they have their patron in power. No wonder why the Fulani militia for example have continued to carry out massive attacks against Nigerians with so much impunity.

Under the APC, insecurity has become a cancer, eating rapaciously and rapidly at the very heart and soul of the shacky country. Insecurity and terrorism are not just tolerated by the government; it is being festered and fostered by it. How else can one explain the fact that Bandits, hoodlums, and terrorists have now taken over the land? These terrorists now control and command significant territories, particularly in Northern Nigeria. Other zones are not even safe. That this is happening under a party that promised to tackle insecurity headlong gives so much concern.

Today’s APC Government in Nigeria has shown itself as an expert in maladministration, graft, insecurity, nepotism, bigotry, and anarchy and these are verifiable facts. Economically speaking, life for millions of Nigerians has become increasingly hard, under the APC-led Federal Government, Nigeria suffered two recessions, something that has never happened before. The number of unemployed people has gone off the hinges that people no longer rely on statistics to sense the danger.

Nigeria’s economy is in complete tatters. The Naira has gone totally South, on the parallel market, it was ₦190 when the APC smuggled itself into Aso rock, today it is ₦530. The President’s phantom promise of bequeathing a country that would have its currency almost at parity with the US Dollar has remained a figment of the President’s stinking imagination. The instability of the exchange rates has continued to be a nightmare for the citizenry as most Nigerians have now been forced to endure rates never before experienced for any sustained period, which actually translates to more hardship. Analysts have even continued to predict that the present situation is just the beginning.

Under the APC, the country is constantly plunged into darkness. This is against the promises by the APC that power outage would be a thing of the past within a short period of its assumption into office, the promises have simply remained a mirage. There is no solution in sight. It is probably a fitting epithet to this Government, which prided itself as the Party of light, that gloom, darkness, and doom abound and follow it around.

While this madness is going on, the party has remained aloof and preferred to go after the opposition party to recruit most of her members using blackmails and other undemocratic means, all available evidence simply suggests that the APC is far more interested in securing its political future than fixing the badly damaged Nigeria. Nigerians must watch it. How to boot them out of office should be the way forward, anything less than that is simply a waste of precious time.
