Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has inaugurated at least 1,000 hunters to complement security agencies’ efforts in the ongoing war against Boko Haram.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that the induction was held in Khaddamari village, Jere Local Government Area of the state.

Zulum hailed them for their sacrifice and support to his administration for sustained peace.

The governor assured of adequate logistics support and timely payment of monthly allowances.

The volunteers will protect the farming communities, in four local government areas, against terrorists.

These are Maiduguri, Jere, Mafa and Konduga LGAs.

Zulum thanked Rep. Ahmed Satomi (APC-Borno) and House of Assembly members from areas for mobilising the hunters.

The governor visited Mulai and Dalwa communities on the outskirts of Maiduguri.

He also met with security operatives in preparation for the re-opening of farmlands along the axis.
