An editor with the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) who was kidnapped last week, has regained her freedom.

Mrs Amra Ahmed, a nursing mother and News Editor with the ABC Yola, was kidnapped on the night of May 4th at her residence in Mbamba, Yola North Local Government Area.

Rumour had it that the kidnappers demanded ransom, but the family would not confirm it, insisting that they were praying fervently for her release.

She was released in the early hours of Wednesday and has since joined her family.

Amrah’s husband, Ahmad Isa, broke the news of her release on Wednesday but would not say whether the ransom was paid.

‘Alhamdulillah. Amra regained her freedom and reunited with the family. Worthy to note, she returned safely. Our sincere thanks to all colleagues for their show of concern and prayers,’ Ahmad said in a whatsapp group posting.
