Imo PDP Elects Sir Ambrose Ejiogu Chair Of Elders Council

In a recent reshuffle of their political party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Imo State Chapter has installed Sir Ambrose Ejiogu as the Chairman and the Captain of Affairs of the Elders Council of the political party.

The process which was conducted on Thursday, 9th of April saw Sir Ejiogu replacing Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu who had served his complete tenure after a free and fair election. The election also saw Chief Barrister Peter Mgbenwelu, retaining his position as Secretary of the Committee.

Some other Committees that were inaugurated after the election include Elders Council Committee, Disciplinary Committee, Finance Committee, Recruitment, Contact And Mobilization Committee, Foreign/Diaspora Committee, Talent, Employment And Opportunities Committee, Women Mobilization, Youth Mobilization Committee, Media Committee, PDP Support/Volunteer Groups, Non-Indigenes Committee, New Media Committee and Legal Committee. All the Committees were inaugurated at the Party Headquarters, Okigwe Road, Owerri.

The Chairman of Imo PDP, Chief Charles Ugwu also commisserated with all the Committee Members and their Heads for attending the event. Former Governor, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha who was present at the inauguration also expressed gratitude to the PDP members for their steadfastness and commitment to the party, urging them to remain calm as things will soon get rosy for the members. Others who were present for the groundbreaking event include former Governors and Deputy Governors under PDP, members of the National and State Assembly, Ex Ministers, LGA, Zonal, State and National Officers of Imo PDP, including members who came to witness the occasion.

The party Secretary, Nze Ray Emeana appealed that Imo PDP members should always conduct themselves by being good party men and avoid acts that may lead them into antiparty activities.

Sir Ambrose Ejiogu who is now the newly elected Chairman of the Elders Council of the party, thanked his fellow Elders for their support and trust in him. He also promised to serve them to his best capacity while leaving a firebrand of wonderful achievements behind.
