Ethiopia’s defence ministry has dismissed viral reports that its troops were responsible for the gruesome massacre of 15 men in the northern Tigray region.
From video evidence shot near the historic city of Axum, the BBC and CNN and other media outlets concluded that Ethiopian soldiers had shot unarmed men at point-blank range before pushing their bodies off a cliff.
Brigadier General Kuma Mideksa alleged that the footage was fabricated by Tigrayan TPLF forces wearing stolen uniforms.
The denial however is largely empty and lacking in facts that could counter the evidence in the video.
