It was definitely a painful Tuesday for Senator Gabriel Suswam, a former Governor of Benue State as Gunmen killed his elder brother Chief Terkula Suswam.

He was reportedly shot dead at his residence in Anyin, a rural community in Logo Local Government Area of Benue.

The deceased, who was the proprietor of Ashi Waves (radio station) and Ashi Polytechnic, was said to be supervising a new building project close to his residence when the gunmen drove to the spot where he was murdered.

A family source close to the senator confirmed the incident to Newsmen late Tuesday.

He said details of the incident were sketchy and it was difficult to finger those behind the killing.

Contacted, the Police Spokesperson for Benue Command, DSP Catherine Anene, said she could not confirm the incident yet as her effort to reach the DPO on the ground was not fruitful.

The rate of killings by unknown gunmen in the state has been on the high side with many suspecting that the Fulani herdsmen in the state could be reponsible.
