Fulani Herdsmen Must Leave Ibarapa Now - Sunday Igboho

Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho on Friday made an appearance at Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, to declare that Fulani herdsmen must leave the area.

Igboho had last week issued a one-week ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen to vacate the area after the killing of Dr. Aborode.

Following the expiration of the ultimatum on Thursday, Igboho stormed Ibarapa on Friday where he was welcomed by thousands of supporters.

A video surfaced on Twitter where he was addressing a huge crowd who cheered him as he insisted that Fulani herdsmen must leave the land.

‘What is happening will not be limited to this place, we will drive out Fulani from entire Yorubaland. They want to be killing us. We will not accept this,’ he was quoted as saying.

Tension is already brewing in Igangan, Ibarapa as the ultimatum expired on Thursday and with the surfacing of Igboho in the area on Friday.

In a related development, a group of Fulani known as Fulani Nationalist Movement (FUNAM) has warned Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho not to remove their men from Ibarapa forest.

In a statement circulating online, the group in a statement signed by West Africa Regional Coordinator, Baadu Salisu Ahmadu warned the Yoruba warlord to desist from his decision or he attract war.

Recalled Sunday Igboho has earlier today fulfilled his threat by driving away the Fulani men from Ibarapa area of Oyo State.

The group also warned the On do State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu over the ultimatum given to the Fulani herdsmen in the state.

Sunday Igboho has dared Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde to arrest him for ordering Fulani herdsmen to leave Ibarapa.

Igboho had last Friday issued a seven-day ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen in Igangan, Ibarapa North LG to leave the area over incessant killings of Yoruba people.
