#EndSARS: Gov. Fayemi Urges Injured Policemen To File Petition

The Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Wednesday urged policemen who were injured, molested or lost personal property during the #EndSARS protest to file their petitions before the state judicial panel of enquiry report says.

This was coming as the people of Ikere Ekiti, the Local government headquarters of the Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State, resolved to rebuild burnt police formations in the town. This was made known in a communiqué at the end of a meeting by the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu, the Ikere Ekiti community condemned the destruction of public property, vowing to cooperate with the police to arrest some of the hoodlums who burnt police stations.

Governor Fayemi, who spoke in Ado Ekiti while addressing officers and men of the Ekiti State Police Command during a visit to command in Ado Ekiti, praised the officers for exercising restraint despite the violence visited on police formations by hoodlums during the #EndSARS Protest.

The governor said, ‘Any officer of the Nigeria Police Force that the panel clearly confirmed to have been a victim of attack will also be a beneficiary of the compensation that we have put in place because you cannot be protecting us at the risk of your own life.’
