Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has said it is disobeying the lockdown orders because the government has not been able to stop the rampaging Fulani herdsmen from attacking the people.

The group wonders why the government would declare lockdown but allow Fulani herdsmen go about causing mayhem.

It noted that the government, especially in Akwa Ibom, could not protect the people from the rampaging Fulani herdsmen while it pretends to be protecting them from Coronavirus.

BNYL also shared a video which shows its members disregarding the social distancing order.

Recall that on Thursday last week the BNYL flouted lockdown order and hoisted the Biafra flags in Cross River border town of Ikom.

A video released online by the group showed the Deputy National Leader, Ebuta Takon Akor accusing the government of politicizing COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria and allowing continuous attacks on innocent citizens by Fulani herdsmen.

Akor condemned the COVID-19 lockdown, adding that “instead of providing measures to tackle the invasion of their land and killings by herdsmen the government decided to lockdown everywhere whereas herdsmen are still operating.”

He described COVID-19 as “nothing but tricks in Nigeria while calling on all ethnic nationals of the defunct eastern region to unite with Biafra.”
