The performing lawmaker representing Owerri North State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Philip Ejiogu, popularly called Mr. Integrity has decried the vandalisation of the Otammiri Water Plant by indigenes who oppose the currently ruling Imo State Government.

In the plenary held at the floor of Imo House of Assembly, on the 13th of May, 2020, the Deputy Minority Leader and Committee Chairman, Education, Hon. Engr. Philip Ejiogu, supported a motion against the vandalization of the Otammiri Water Plant.

The water plant was said to have been vandalized by the opposition of the present and ruling administration.

While condemning the act in its entirety, The Deputy Minority Leader took over the floor, stressing it was not time to apportion blame as it could not have been the handiwork of the opposition. He said it is not the time for any citizen of the State to vandalize Government facilities, especially those that generate revenue and provide basic amenities for our citizens.

Hon. Engr. Philip Ejiogu called on the Imo Orientation Agency to take on their job seriously and enlighten Citizens on the consequences of this evil act. He also called on the security Agencies to be more vigilant to protect these facilities for the State.

Finally, he called on the Government to pay more attention to those Economic factors that would lead to food security and economic stability and secure all loose ends, as the COVID 19 Pandemic effect, could have a huge adverse effect on the Federal Allocation, causing a heavy meltdown in every State.
