The United States government has started registering Biafrans in their database as an ethnic entity in an ongoing headcount. An outlet has been made available for Biafrans in the United States of America to tick or associate with the Country instead of Nigeria.
In recent times, Other countries have begun to recognise and openly associate with Biafra and this new development in the United States 2020 census has been seen as a welcome development and has been met with a lot of positive commendations.

People who participated in the census expressed a lot of gladness as they realised that a large number of Igbos in the United States could now be addressed officially as Biafrans and not Nigerians anymore.
