Liam Hemsworth’s divorce plans might be catching fire.

This week, an attorney for the Aussie actor, 29, was given notice by a Los Angeles superior court that Hemsworth’s divorce case is “not complete,” according to E! News, despite his having filed for divorce from Miley Cyrus in August.

The notice instructed the “Catching Fire” star to send documents to his ex, 27, and file paperwork about the documents with the court if he hopes to move ahead with the case.

Though a status conference is set for Jan. 21, Hemsworth won’t have to be in court if he files the documents in question — or a request for dismissal — prior to the date of the hearing. If he does neither, he could face a fine to the court.

If Hemsworth does not “take the appropriate steps in your case,” the court can dismiss the case for delay in prosecution, according to the notice.

Hemsworth filed for divorce less than two weeks after the couple’s separation was announced — less than a year into their marriage — and the 27-year-old former child star was photographed on a romantic European getaway with then-newly single Kaitlynn Carter.
