134. INT. RAY’S OFFICE. DAY

RAY sitting on his SWIVEL CHAIR with DEOLA and caressing her as they discuss.

DEOLA

Frankly speaking, Ray, I’m not comfortable with this romance in the office.

RAY

Who’s the boss here?

DEOLA

What sort of question is that? You of course.

RAY

Then relax! I call the shots here, I’m in charge.

DEOLA

That’s what you said the other day and we’re nearly caught by the chairman.

RAY

And I smoothly covered it up, trust me, I’m in charge.

DEOLA

Anyway, I trust you; the lie you told that day was ingenious, God! sky rocketing my profile but come to think of it what if he eventually finds out that I only have a third class bachelor’s degree, never a chartered accountant?

RAY

Who’s gonna tell him, you?

DEOLA

No! Why would I? What I’m saying peradventure he goes through my file- you know I’m not qualified for this position?

RAY

Sure I know! But your succulent body qualifies you for it and as far as you continue giving me the pleasure I want, you don’t have to bother your pretty head about that.

DEOLA

Is that all?

RAY

Yea babe, that’s all I want.

DEOLA

Then you own this body as long as you desire but who’s going to cover up the tracks for me in my duties?

RAY

Come on sweetie pie! Don’t forget that I have two master’s degrees, an MBA in finance, an M.SC in accounting and besides all these; I’m also a qualified chartered accountant with over a decade experience in auditing and finance. Don’t worry; I’ll do the job for you.

DEOLA

Thanks a lot lover boy! Honestly, I wish I had an enviable resume like you.

RAY

Well, it’s quite unfortunate that very few young people these days really know what they actually studied in school. The quality of graduates our universities are churning out these days, obviously is nothing to write home about.

DEOLA

It’s not really our fault; we’re not property taught in school.

RAY

I doubt that.

135. INT. MR. KADIRI’S RES. NIGHT.

MR and MRS. KADIRI in their BED ROOM discussing as they’re about going to BED.

KADIRI

I’m so happy that at night like this one can actually go to bed in peace without the fear of being woken up in the dead of the night by the noise of one silly boy.

MRS. KADIRI

Truly, dear; I’m really glad that you insisted that the boy should leave.

KADIRI

I had to mount pressure on Jeff to send him away else I would have driven both of them out.

MRS. KADIRI

Eh! That reminds me, do you know that Jeff has lost his job in the park?

KADIRI

Serious! How did you know?

MRS. KADIRI

I saw him at home early hours of the evening and asked him why he didn’t go to work after exchanging pleasantries with him and he told me he lost his job.

KADIRI

Poor boy, I pity him.

MRS. KADIRI

Me too, I wonder how he’s been managing.

KADIRI

Anyway, I’ll see what I can do to help him, he’s a nice young man, he doesn’t deserve to be idle.

MRS. KADIRI

My dear, please do.

  1. KADIRI

I will. I will talk to some of my friends and see if they have vacancies.

MRS. KADIRI

That will be good.

KADIRI

So, having settled that, can we go to bed now?

MRS. KADIRI

Sure.

…to be continued.
