12. INT. NGOZI’S RESIDENCE. DAY.
NGOZI in her BATHROOM, washing her FACE and after which she wipes off the DROPLETS OF WATER with a sparkling WHITE TOWEL and comes out, going to her DRESSING TABLE and picks up her MOBILE PHONE to call KEN, who’s still sleeping and wraps his arms around LUCY.
KEN
Who’s it?
NGOZI
Hi Ken! Good morning, it’s me Ngozi; don’t you have my number on your phone anymore?
KEN
Morning, I do, just that you woke me up.
NGOZI
Sorry about that but I thought I told you earlier that I would like you to attend the Sunday service with me by 9am?

KEN
I’m afraid I won’t be able to make it, I had a very rough day yesterday, and I need some rest perhaps some other time.
NGOZI
Ken, that’s what you always say, some other time; it really doesn’t take anything from you to go to church and worship God, you know, it’s…
…He switches off his phone.
NGOZI
So, he has switched off his phone; may God have mercy on you, ken, a young man like him that God has endowed with so much talents and wealth yet he finds it difficult to go to church and worship the one that made it possible for him. Anyway, I have to go and get ready for church.
…Camera cuts away to Ken and Lucy.
LUCY
Who’s that darling?
KEN
Some religious fanatic inviting me to church.
LUCY
Darling, don’t tell me, you’re going to jump out from the bed right now just to prepare for church.
KEN
Sure you can bet that I got better things to do with my time than that; don’t let that bother you, okay, now go back to sleep sweetie.
13. INT. CHURCH. DAY
After CHURCH SERVICE at the LATTER BLESSING ASSEMBLY, PASTOR DAVID sits at his DESK in a well furnished OFFICE counseling and praying for MEMBERS of the CHURCH.
MRS. OYEBISI
Good afternoon, pastor.
PASTOR DAVID
Good afternoon, Mrs. Oyebisi, please sit down.
MRS. OYEBISI
Thank you, pastor.
PASTOR DAVID
So, how’re you and the family doing?
MRS. OYEBISI
Family? Pastor soon, I won’t be having a complete family.
PASTOR DAVID
God forbid! Mrs. Oyebisi, why do you talk like this?
MRS. OYEBISI
Pastor, my marriage is heading for the rocks and my husband is responsible.
PASTOR DAVID
Please calm down, Mrs. Oyebisi and explain to me in details.
MRS. OYEBISI
Pastor I’m afraid I’m too ashamed to tell you the real problem.
PASTOR DAVID
Mrs. Oyebisi, I’m your pastor, I’m God’s shepherd, anointed by our Lord Jesus Christ to take care of his flock, which you’re one of them and it’s my responsibility to know the problems or challenges any of them is going through so we can join our faith together and seek God’s mercy for solution; please I beg of you, tell me the actual problem.
MRS. OYEBISI
Pastor, do you know that for almost two years now, my husband has been having sex with himself and he totally ignores me in bed? I simply want out of the marriage.
PASTOR DAVID
Having sex with himself, how?
MRS. OYEBISI
Masturbation! Pastor, he masturbates! He has a wife yet he derives maximum satisfaction in that than sleeping with me; he doesn’t seem to care about my feeling as a woman any more. Is it fair, pastor?
PASTOR DAVID
Mrs. Oyebisi, it’s never fair in anyway and I can understand how you feel and you shouldn’t be crossed with him because he’s not doing it deliberately, it’s not a normal situation, he’s under a strong satanic influence and I tell you something, all the devil wants right now is to completely destroy your once happy home. You’ve got two lovely children, what would be their fate if their parents are divorced? Please my sister, don’t give the enemy a chance in your marriage; all you need to do now is to go to battle on bended knees so that God will deliver him from the claws of the wicked one. You’re a dedicated Christian; you shouldn’t resort to divorce okay.
MRS. OYEBISI
Thank you, pastor.
PASTOR DAVID
It’s well my sister, I’ll always remember you in prayers, and also I’ll make out time to see your husband so I can counsel and pray for him, all right.
MRS. OYEBISI
All right pastor, thank you, I feel a lot better now, I have to be on my way.
PASTOR DAVID
The Lord be with you, my sister.
NGOZI
Good day, pastor.
PASTOR DAVID
Oh! Sister Ngozi, welcome, how’re you? Please take a seat.
NGOZI
Thank you, pastor.
PASTOR DAVID
I actually sent for you.
NGOZI
All right, pastor.
PASTOR DAVID
That your friend, the young man, you brought to church some time ago…
NGOZI
You mean Ken?
PASTOR DAVID
Exactly, did he come to church today with you?
NGOZI
No pastor, he seems not to be interested in church anymore.
PASTOR DAVID
Please try and inform him that I would like to see him, it’s really important; I have a message for him from the Lord.
NGOZI
All right pastor, I’ll deliver your message.
…to be continued.
