In the past 48 hours, some moles in the government sent messages out and those that matter in the polity got wind of the new plan to rig the election.
What had been decided by the rigging machinery was to continue with the election in some states, about 26 states and postpone the elections in 10 states. From the declared results in the 26 states, they would have known what to do and would have deployed their security and rigging apparatus to those 10 states and the Osun State template would have been used in those states. That was the plan.
But last night, the international community intelligence agencies got wind of the plan and warning calls were made to the government and to the INEC Chairman. Civil society groups were alerted and pressure was put on the authorities not to declare staggered elections. It wasn’t going to be accepted. Elections have to hold the same day. Period.
That wasn’t the plan the riggers wanted. They had hoped that the elections would be staggered.
In any case, their evil day of defeat has only been postponed.
The results of this election will not change on February 23rd.
Atiku will win it.
